After a history making 2021 season, the Storm moved up to the WFA PRO Division to start the Quest for 3. The Storm finished the 2022 regular season with a 4-2 record advancing to a 3rd appearance in the WFA Playoffs! Although, the #RoadtoCanton ended after the first round of playoffs, the Storm is already looking forward to the upcoming 2023 season.

Finishing the 2021 regular and post season with a winning overall record of 9-0. Switching leagues in 2019 and joining the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) proved to be a good move as the Nevada Storm built off of past years success and claimed #1 seed in Division 2, hosting playoffs. Coming up victorious in playoffs the Storm made its second appearance in the WFA’s D2 National Championship game. The Storm were looking to take on the Detroit Dark Angels! The Storm on its first possession took the lead and never looked back, winning 42-18! It was another history making season as the Storm became the only team in the WFA to have won back to back championships in two different divisions!

Keeping this drive alive for the upcoming 2023 season, we are reaching out to the community for support to help with our regular season expenses. Our sports budget is not adequate enough to cover the full amount of our team’s expenses for the season. Not only do we “pay-to-play” for the regular season, we need to fundraise and gather donations to help off-set team cost. All revenue generated will help cover practice and game field rental, travel and lodging out of state, and any other unforeseen expenses that may occur during the season.

Off the field, our athletes volunteer their time and have taken collections to give to local Northern Nevada organizations, such as the Kids Kottage, Step 2, Our Center, and the Veteran’s Resource Center. We are a group of strong women, wives, mothers, students, and full time workers! The Nevada Storm is very proud of our accomplishments on and off the field this season, as individuals and as a team.

The Nevada Storm is a federally recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides women with the opportunity to play and compete at the top tier of tackle football preparing for international and national competition; while fostering an environment of good will and sportsmanship.
